Background Information

Doug Coltart is a partner at Mtetwa & Nyambirai. He is a registered Legal Practitioner with the High Court of Zimbabwe who holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town. He has written widely on human rights and constitutional law in Zimbabwe and his work has been referred to by the Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe. He joined private practice in 2014 with Gill, Godlonton & Gerrans Legal Practitioners in Harare before moving to the United States, where he worked on constitutionalism and human rights issues throughout Africa.

Upon his return to Zimbabwe in 2017, he joined Mtetwa & Nyambirai where his practice focuses on constitutional law, human rights law, labour law, and general civil and criminal litigation. He was admitted to partnership in January 2022.
